About the town
Cori is located in the province of Latina, in the Lazio region of central Italy. It was well developed in the age of the expansion of Rome (between the 7th and 6th century BC). It became a Roman possession after the Social War (between the 90 and 88 BC), maintaining some administrative and political autonomy.
The hilly region of Cori is permitted to produce both red and white Italian DOC wine. The main sights in Cori include The Temple of Hercules, which was established early 1st century BC and is a national monument of Italy, The Sanctuary of Madonna del Soccorso, The Santa Maria della Pietà, and The Church of St. Francis (1521–26).
About the agreement
In February 2019, the Mayor of Cori, Mr. Mauro De Lillis Premio, along with a delegation visited Bethlehem and met with Bethlehem’s Mayor, Adv. Anton Salman. Both mayors signed an intention paper for a future twinning agreement.
