About the city:

 

Comacchio is a municipality in the province of Ferrara in the Italian province of Emilia Romagna in which a province was founded about two thousand years ago; throughout its history; it was ruled first by the Exarchate of Ravenna, then the Duchy of Ferrara, and eventually returned to be part of the Vatican territory. Due to its nature and history, it is one of the main centers of the Po Delta. The city is also known as Little Venice because it preserved the authenticity of its architecture, canals, old buildings and ancient bridges.

The population of the city in 2009 was about 23,000 people, and its area is estimated at 284 square kilometers.

As for the most famous tourist areas, it is the Comacchio Cathedral, its origin dates back to the year 708 AD and contains several famous art pieces by famous artists and Sanctuary of Santa Maria in First Regia and Logiato de Comacchio. The historic residential area was situated on small islands connected to each other by historic bridges.

 

 

About the agreement:

 

The City of Bethlehem and the City of Comacchio signed a Friendship Agreement on the 5th of December, 2019 with the intents of cooperation, developing institutional relationships and creating opportunities for cultural initiatives.
